Andhra Pradesh is a Costal State Prone to Severe Cyclones, Floods, Tsunami. In addition, State witnessed various man-made disasters that include fire accidents, industrial Hazards etc. The loss of life, property and Infrastructure is huge and State is making every effort to minimize the loss. After enactment of DM Act, 2005 (DM Act) by GOI, there was a shift in focus from a post disaster approach to preparedness and prevention. Revenue (DM) Department proposed to establish APSDRF on the lines of NDRF, to deal effectively with natural calamity and other disasters.
Accordingly, Orders issued vide GO Rt No. 3, Home (Legal.II) Department, dt. 13.01.2016 for creation of the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response Force (APSDRF) comprising 6 Companies with two teams each (Total 12 teams).

Revenue (DM) Department vide G.O Ms No.1, Dt.13.01.2016 orders were issued for sanctioning an amount of Rs. 23,58,17,458 towards procurement of the vehicles and equipment for SDRF and expenditure shall be met from Andhra Pradesh Disaster Recovery Project (APDRP) as Reimbursement. Further procurement committee and Technical Committee were constituted respectively - vide G.O Ms No. 1 , Dt 13.01.2016 and G.O Ms No.4, dt.01.04.2016 to evaluate Technical bids and recommend responsive qualify bidders to the procurement Committee to open the financial bids of the qualified bidders. The PMU shall take up procurement process and finalize it under the technical guidance of Technical Committee and approval of the procurement Committee.
