- Rain is liquid water in the form of lets condensed from atmospheric water vapor.
- When these lets become heavy enough, they fall under gravity.
- Rain is the main source of fresh water on the earth and is useful for hydroelectric power plants and irrigation.
- Rainfall is of three types, (i) convective (caused due to convection or raising of air), (ii) cyclonic and (ii) orographic (caused by raising of air over the mountains)
