The NCRMP project was executed from 2011 to 2018 with an amount of Rs.1339.44 Cr. in coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh.
Early Warning Dissemination System (EWDS)
· The Government of Andhra
Pradesh is utilizing all the modern technologies i.e Early Warning
Dissemination System (EWDS) under NCRMP, a world Bank project under which 1
SEOC, 9(District Emergency Operating Centers, 76 Mandal Emergency Operation
Centers, 219 Multi-Purpose Cyclone centers are operating through which
messages are being sent and also sirens will be spread through cyclone centers
on weather s.
· For the effective dissemination
of early warning at the last mile the information in a message format is
sent through Social Media applications (What app &Telegram) to respective
Tahsildars and concerned Village Revenue Officers (VRO) of the possible risk
area.

This system helps in providing
early warning to the people living in disaster-prone areas.

The information could be
through a siren, voice, or pre-recorded messages.

This is a fail-proof
communication system. It addresses the existing gap of dissemination disaster
warning for cyclone and tsunami up to the community level by establishing a
robust communication system.

This is the first of its kind
in the country for cyclone and Tsunami warnings.
· The technical infrastructure
allows the state, district and local authorities are available 24 x 7 to reach
the villagers in the coastal districts on a near real-time basis.
