  • The State of Andhra Pradesh (AP) is prone to various natural disasters such as Lightning, Heatwaves, Cyclones, Rainfall, and Floods in addition to manmade disasters like Boat and Chemical accidents.
  • Hence, the Government of AP has established AP Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) with the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) as one of its units.
  • Early warning dissemination of the disasters aiming toward Disaster Risk Reduction is the responsibility of SEOC.
  • SEOC is equipped with state-of-the-art communication facilities such as Satellite-Based Mobile Data and Voice Terminal (SBMDVT), Satellite Phones, very small aperture terminal (V-SAT), and a dedicated BSNL link for the bulk SMS.
